Each participant must be a recognized member in good standng of the VSA, inc. in order to be eligible for competition. Each participant must enter as a riding unit (one horse/rider, except for lead line) duly regisered with VSA and bearing a alid VSA ID cared showing thename of one horse and rider only. All competitors will be showing under the jurisdiction and regulations of the competition at which he/she is competing.
Each riding unit wll be allowed to compete for one county award, one state award, plus the high point award. Each riding unit must compete in a minimum of 2 VSA pointed cometitions held in the county which the riding unit is competing for a county award. For the state award, a ridig unit must compete in a minimum of three VSA pointed competitions, one of which must be held outside the county in which the riding unit is registered for county competition. Lead Liners must show in a minumum of 3 or more shows (not necessarily with the same horse)
Upon entering a VSA registered competition, each riding unit must reigster for VSA points be giving his/her VSA ID number to the show secretary prior to entering the first VSA pointed class of the day. Each riding unit must compete in a minimum of # VSA classes in each registered competition in which the riding unit is competing for points. If somce classes are combined english/western, points will be earned only if the competitor competes in western tack and attire. Under the point system, a competitor is encouraged to enter all VSA pointed classes, as only the top three scores of the day will be counted in his/her average for the competition. If for any reason during the course of the competition a riding unit scratches before the pre-entered VSA classes are completed, a valid notification must be submitted bt the show secretary to the VSA recording secretary along with the point totals for that competition. If the notification is not recieved by the recording secretary, or if the reason for the scratched classes is not considered valid by the VSA directors, then all VSA classes not completed by theriding unit will draw a "0" for the competition.
A minimum of 1.0 for the season must be maintained to be eligible for any awards. Points will be earned as follows: 1st = 6pts, 2nd = 5pts, 3rd = 4pts, 4th = 3pts, 5th = 2pts, 6th = 1pt. All other placings will recieve a "0" score. In the case that there are less than three riders in a class, the point system will change. If there are two riders the 1st place will recieve 2pts and the 2nd place rider will recieve 1pt. If only one exhibitor is in the class then 1pt will be awarded to the exhibitor.
A competitor will be allowed to compete on mre than one horse in the VSA program, provided that proper ID numbers are obtained and used. If a change of mounts does occur, immediately contact the VSA secretary and obtain a new number. Points may not be accumulated on more than one horse for the same award. Any number of riders may use the same mount, provided that each riding unit has properly registered.
Each rider is responsible for submitting his/her points to the VSA recording secretary by OCTOBER 15th of the competion year. This is a double-check of the show secretary reports hat are sumitted after each cometition. The rider may contact the recording secretary and request their points as recorded to date. All other competitors points will be held in confidence.
Any formal complain should be submitted to the VS president in writing. Action will be taken within thiry days
Your ID number is your identifcation for the show secretaries and recording secretary. It is very important that you use it at all shows, if you are pointing that show. If you are showing more than one horse, you must use the correct number.
All memberships expire January 31st.
